Design - Organization - Economic Development - Promotion

1. Design -Improving the look of Downtown Carbondale. This committee coordinates the Planting Days and landscaping of the Town Square, The Old Depot grounds, The American Tap Lot, Friendship Plaza, and Veteran's Park. This committee also oversees our grant program for facade improvements. We work hard to make downtown look great!

2. Organization -Making sure Main Street is here for years to come. This committee organizes all fundraising efforts, as well as our membership campaign and Annual Night Out. We meet traditionally at noon on the third Wednesday of the month, although this changes as we work on different projects.

3. Economic Development -Improving and measuring the downtown business climate. This committee meets the second Thursday of the month at 8 am at Harbaugh's Cafe. We compile an Annual Report of downtown progress, manage the Carbondale Curb Appeal project to help property owners improve their buildings, and publish the quarterly CMS newsletter. Most importantly, we try to fill available property with quality businesses.

4. Promotion -Bringing People Downtown. This is our most active and important committee. We plan all of the downtown events and help to promote downtown Carbondale in many ways. This committee has many sub-committees; Meet Me On Main and SIUC student activities, Downtown Art & Wine Fair, Carbondale Community Friday Night Fair and more. All of our events can be found on our Events Page.
